Pediatric Dental Specialists

Pediatric dentistry is the dental specialty dedicated to the oral health and unique needs of infants, children, and adolescents. Not all children’s dentists are specialists. Pediatric dentists complete four years of dental school followed by an additional two to three years of advanced, specialized training focused specifically on treating young patients.

This specialized education includes child psychology, growth and development, management of oral and facial trauma, sedation, and general anesthesia. Through this rigorous training and hands-on clinical experience, pediatric dentists are uniquely prepared to care for children at every stage of development, including those with special health care needs.
